Description
Two-gallon (?) stoneware jar with deep brown glaze. Large ovoid jar shape with flared neck, flat rim, and two opposing, applied ear-shaped lug handles. No lid. Exterior of crock body features two parallel horizontal incised lines at narrowest point, even with midpoint of ears, and maker stamp "Ballard & Brothers / Burlington, VT" on center front of neck. Interior of crock body features dark brown glaze.
