Half-dollar sized gold coin. Souvenir item issued for Champlain Anniversary Festival in 1909. Front labeled "1609 Champlain 1959 Anniversary Festival" along edges with image of Samuel de Champlain in boat with Native Americans in center. Words "New York" and "Vermont" appear on either side of figure of Champlain. Rear labeled "Souvenir Coin Good for 50 c In Trade At Any Cooperative Business Or Redeemable at Face Value At Festival Offices Burlington, VT Ticonderoga N.Y. Good Until Oct. 15, 1959"
