Description
Black and white double-sided printed advertising card, promoting Smith & Pease Clothiers in the Howard Opera House in Burlington. Part of the American Puzzle Card series by E.K. Dunbar & Co. Front features an illustration of a ship capsizing on stormy seas, with one sailor in the ship holding out an arm to another sailor in the water. Rear features a description of Smith & Pease. Captioned "H.M.S. Pinafore. The Captain! Where Is He?" on lower center of front. Labeled "American Puzzle Cards. E.K. Dunbar & Co., Boston." on upper edge of front. Labeled "Copyright 1880" on lower left of front.
