Description
Oral history interview with retiring Professor Joanne Farrell of the Core Division, conducted by Erica Donnis, Special Collections Director, on June 7, 2021. Farrell describes several classes she taught, including Rhetoric and Crossing Borders (a travel course she developed), her involvement with the Professional Writing major, and her experience teaching remotely during the COVID 19 pandemic. Farrell also details her work with the Champlain College Theater (ChamPlayers) program, including productions held on campus and in the FlynnSpace in downtown Burlington and a short play developed for first year orientation. Additionally, Farrell references two incidents involving racism directed at Black students in the classroom and in a Champlain College drama production. 59:58.
