Burlington has always been closely tied to Lake Champlain. The city rose to regional prominence in the nineteenth century due to its burgeoning harbor businesses; yet, by the 1930s, the waterfront was in decline. In the last thirty years, it has been re-envisioned as a public recreational center. This online exhibit is drawn from an exhibition on display at Champlain College from September to December 2013, which highlighted key components of the Burlington waterfront's varied history.
